On an over-populated downtown LA street, an illuminated hot pink neon sign shines the words Famous Monsters. Aside from this, the building itself is historic and common looking to the other surrounding establishments. Neighboring a tattoo parlor and a modern art exhibit, the strip club fits in well with the visions being offered. So why stop here and not at one of the other hot spots on the street? Why Famous Monsters before any other skinclub? One step through the door and you'd have your answer.

This is a world where music and subculture, tattoos and piercings, fierce guys and girls with no modesty, and the best of the absolute worst reigns supreme. Famous Monsters caters to the voyeurs who prefer their Suicide Girls to the Club Jenna crew. Those who would rather watch their fantasies to the themes of blaring punk, electronica, industrial and dance rather than that outplayed radio mess that pollutes the airways. Every gender is able to participate in this world of true hedonism; with a co-ed staff, multi-stories of indulgence, dance floors, two fully stocked bars, nightly stage shows and private rooms to fulfill your most debauched fantasy - your senses will surely be overwhelmed, and your appetite satisfied.

------

Famous Monsters is located in a fairly large, two story brick building in downtown LA. The architecture is classic California simplicity, though it does stand out with it's large windows on the street outside of the club. [Click here, here, and here for similar visuals.] Patrons enter from the street side and must pass by a bouncer's station before moving any further into the club. To the right of the entrance is a novelty shop that, and if customers move to their left they will see a way to the main dance floor and stage which is used during the drag shows and nightly by the performers. There is a fully stocked bar just past the dance floor and a lounge area where people can rest on tables and couches, booths and other lavish furnitures close enough to the stages to enjoy themselves. In the center of this room is a set of spiral stairs on pillars that lead to the upper layers of the club and to the second dance floor that centers you, yet again, at another fully stocked bar.

On the main floor, a short hallway painted red leads to private rooms and the unisex bathrooms. On the other side of the establishment, in a hallway painted blue, is the employees only section that trails behind the stages. The dancers' dressing rooms are in this area, as well as the management teams' offices and the meeting/break room. The employees enter from this side of the building for privacy and security reasons.

There is another less visually amplifying set of stairs that lead to the second floor on this side of the club, and from there you can move freely through a semi-enclosed entrance that opens to the second floor's dancing area and behind the second bar. Kristofer's office is upstairs as well, on the opposite side of the landing, with an entire wall of two-way glass windows looking out over the club.

Famous Monsters is open from 3pm - 3am daily. Openers show up around 2:30pm, and closers stay until 4am. Food (a light menu of bar & grill type appetizers) is served until 11pm. Every Monday-Thursday night, the club hosts themed evenings in which the dancers dress according to the party, and visitors are asked to do the same. Tuesday is the Drag night, where they host a weekly show with both visiting and resident performers. Wednesday nights are industrial nights, allowing for their cyber scene to take control for the entirety of the evening. Friday nights are electronica/house nights, and those these seems are consistent throughout the week, they are subject to change. Upstairs, however, a DJ will be playing a mix every night unless other parties or events are being held.

For example, once a month, Famous Monsters hosts a private BDSM themed party, Kiss & Control, that is held upstairs for paying members only. Various events and parties are scheduled throughout the year according to holidays and birthdays.
